....Old Chelsea update:

Based on what we know from the contractors last week, access to the village centre will require continued patience and creativity and planning-

This week : Old Chelsea Road will be blocked between Padden (beside the café) and Vincent (up by the church). Notch Road (heading to Aylmer and Pontiac region) will also be closed just south of Mine Road. (Refer to the maps) .

The coffee shop will be open, bright and early, and until lunch time 7-1230 for Monday. 

Likely 7-5 for Wed/Thurs/Fri if all goes well!

....It's going to be another gorgeous week, so despite the construction, we will be open 7am - 5 pm just in case any of you can get out and about and enjoy our garden during these lovely sunny fall days.
Please remember that Old Chelsea road is blocked by St. Stephen's church/Doozy Candle area. Scott road paving is almost all done, so hopefully there won't be big delays there!Check the map for helpful directions.

.... For Monday, we have a tiny reprieve - Scott Road is paved (and they will do finishing touches this week). Notch Road is still open. Old Chelsea remains fully blocked by St. Stephen's church. (See previous post of Saturday).

We will be open Monday Sept. 21 from 7:00 am - 1230 pm.

....For Les Saisons in Chelsea - Since it will be such a glorious week, we will be open on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday until 5 p.m. Since I don't want to overwhelm you with information, please refer to the map for instructions on how to reach us during construction. Or read my post of Sept. 13 on Cafe Les Saisons - Coffee, Tea, Gifts and Art - Chelsea Quebec . It's a little bit tricky I'm afraid!

Due to the construction around the coffee shop, for Monday Sept. 14th, we will be open until 12:30. Hours for the rest of the week to be evaluated Monday.

Scott road to be paved this week !!! Believe it or not!

Old Chelsea Road will be completely blocked to cars by Doozy Candle shop and St. Stephen's Church. You will have to park and walk if you are coming from that direction. 
If you are coming down Scott Road, Padden Road (beside pink building Delilah) is now ONE WAY from Old Chelsea Road - so you can't turn onto Padden from Scott. THIS IS NOT INDICATED ON THE MAP. Go through the Biscotti parking lot and you can access Padden Road which leads to Les Saisons. 
Hopefully, but not definitely, there is supposed be access to Les Saisons coming along Old Chelsea Road from Scott Road ( the Mamma Teresa corner).

Here are the specifics:  

For Monday morning ( September 14th):

· Old Chelsea Road completely closed opposite the cemetary, near Nordik Road, due to blasting.
· They will work in sections towards the west to reach the intersection with Vincent Road and this will last for about 1 week. 
-Old Chelsea Road will be open from Highway 5 to the cemetary.

It is not possible to confirm yet whether the road will be open in the evenings or at weekends. This will need to be determined as and when.

Old Chelsea Road will have at least one lane open between Scott and Padden Roads since they will be working on the sidewalks etc at that point.

Scott Road:
From Monday morning (September 14th)
· Surfacing work will continue and paving should be completed by Friday. 
· Remaining will be the landscaping work - that will be undertaken the following week.

Voici les détails:

À partir de lundi matin (14 septembre):

· Chemin Old Chelsea fermé complètement en face du cimetière, près du chemin Nordik pour des raisons de dynamitage.

· Ces travaux vont se déplacer par tronçon vers l’ouest pour atteindre l’intersection du chemin Vincent et vont durer environ 1 semaine. 

-Le chemin Old Chelsea sera ouvert de l’autoroute 5 au cimetière.

Le chemin Old Chelsea, entre les chemin Scott et Padden sera ouvert minimum une voie sur deux puisque des travaux de trottoirs et autres se dérouleront à ce moment.

· À noter qu’on ne peut confirmer pour le moment si le chemin pourra être ouvert les soirs et la fin de semaine et que ce sera déterminé au fur et à mesure

Scott :

À partir de lundi matin (14 septembre)
· Travaux de surface se poursuivent, le pavage devrait être complété pour vendredi.
· Il restera à faire l’aménagement paysager la semaine suivante

For this week of continued construction, our hours are as follows: 

Tuesday - closed
Wednesday 9 Sept - 0700- 1230 pm
Thursday 10 Sept. - 0700 - 1230 pm
Friday 11 Sept. - 0700 - 1230 pm

We are anticipating that the construction will be the same as it was last Friday:

If you are coming down Scott I suggest you go through Biscotti parking lot, park, walk, get your coffee and go back out Scott road. Otherwise you will have to go all the way around via hwy105 to Old Chelsea Road.
If you come down Old Chelsea Road from Hwy 5 and the church , there is now a barricade saying "local traffic only".

Construction crews are gone until Tuesday morning. All roads are open - Old Chelsea, Padden and Scott - in all directions. 
Enjoy it while it lasts! Park where you can! 

Les Saisons will be open Saturday and Sunday 8-6, Monday 8-4

Construction Update Sept. 3rd

Newest construction information as of this afternoon:

Padden road(beside coffee shop) is now ONE Way from Old Chelsea Road toward Scott Road. You CANNOT enter Padden from Scott (as we all have been doing for years). 

If you are coming down Scott I suggest you go through Biscotti parking lot, park, walk, get your coffee and go back out Scott road. Otherwise you will have to go all the way around via hwy105 to Old Chelsea Road.

If you come down Old Chelsea Road from Hwy 5 and the church , there is now a barricade saying "local traffic only".

....Construction Update & Hours..Construction et Heures d'ouverture....

....The construction update is as follows: 

The work required for the sewage and water project in the Center Village of Chelsea is now expected to start Monday August 31st on Old Chelsea Road at the intersection of Padden Road. Padden Road is the road beside the coffee shop. 

Old Chelsea Road will be closed completely between Padden and Scott Road (the corner of Mamma Teresa’s restaurant). 
The work will take between 2 to 3 weeks. 

The best way to reach the coffee shop will be to come from Scott Road, then down along Padden Road to our parking lot. Alternately, customers can park along Old Chelsea Road - near the Church and STO lot. 

Due to the fact that the construction will most certainly affect traffic flow, as well as the enjoyment of sitting in the garden, 
this week we will be open: 

- 7 am until noon on weekdays (except Tuesday) 
- 8 am until 6 pm. on weekends. 

We will continue to evaluate the impacts of construction on the coffee shop and we will adjust our hours accordingly.

Voici les dernières mises à jour :

Les travaux d’infrastructures en eaux usées et potable prévus dans le Centre-Village débuteront le 31 août prochain sur le chemin Old Chelsea à l’intersection du chemin Padden (la rue à côté du café).

Chemin Old Chelsea entre les chemins Padden et Scott – Fermeture complète
Ces travaux devraient se poursuivre sur une période de deux à trois semaines. La circulation ne sera pas possible pour cette période sur le chemin Old Chelsea entre les chemins Scott et Padden. Les détours en place devront donc être empruntés. 

Comme la construction affectera certainement la circulation cette semaine, ainsi que la possibilité de profiter du jardin,
nos heures d'ouverture seront comme suit :

-de 7 h à midi tous les jours (sauf mardi);
-de 8 h à 18 h au cours du week-end.

Nous évaluerons régulièrement les impacts de la construction et ajusterons les heures en conséquence.

....Due to the uncertainty around the construction that is supposed to happen right around our shop, the following hours will be in effect. Once more is known, a map will be posted, as well as details of best access.

....ROUTE 105 - SECTION CLOSED - Thursday, Aug 6th 7.00am to 5.00pm

Construction work will take place on the 105 from 7.00 am to 5.00 pm on Thursday August 6th.
The 105 will be completely closed between the intersection of Old Chelsea Road and the intersection of Mill Road.
No through traffic will be possible for the day and so you will need to detour via Scott Road.
The municipal website and street map is in the process of being updated.

ROUTE 105 - SECTION FERMÉE - jeudi, le 6 août de 7h00 à 17h00

Des travaux auront lieu sur la Route 105 de 7:00 à 17:00 jeudi le 6 août.

....Given that so many of our customers either work or live in Ontario and therefore are celebrating Monday August 3 as a holiday, we will also treat it like a holiday!

....Old Chelsea Road will be completely closed for the Thursday July 16th between Hwy. 5 and Hôtel de Ville Road (by the Town Hall) .This means if you are coming to the coffee shop from 105 and Old Chelsea, you will need to go around via Scott Road. You will be fine coming on Hwy. 5 from Ottawa, and getting off at Exit 12 and going to the coffee shop. Or fine coming from Wakefield, into Chelsea along Scott Road. 

To access the part of Old Chelsea Road west from the highway 5: Take the detour route on the 105 and Scott Road.

To access the part of Old Chelsea Road east of Mcdougall: Take the detour route on Scott Road and route 105

.. Pour des raisons imprévues et hors de notre contrôle, le chemin Old Chelsea devra être fermé jeudi le 16 juillet matin dès 7h00 dans les deux directions à la hauteur du chemin Hôtel-de-ville. 

Chemin Old Chelsea est non accessible entre le chemin Hôtel‐de‐ville et l’autoroute 5.
Pour accéder au chemin Old Chelsea à l’ouest de l’autoroute 5 en provenance de la route 105 : Faire le détour par la route 105 et le chemin Scott.
Pour accéder au chemin Old Chelsea à l’est du chemin Hôtel-de-ville : Faire le détour par le chemin Scott et la route 105.

Pour les gens qui doivent accéder à l’école Chelsea Elementary le chemin de la Graduation demeure accessible en provenance de la partie du chemin Old Chelsea située à l’est de l’école. Il ne l’est pas en provenance de la partie du chemin Old Chelsea située à l’ouest du chemin Old Chelsea. Les détours par le chemin Scott/la 105 et ensuite Old Chelsea doivent être pris pour accéder au chemin de la Graduation.

La circulation devrait être rétablie demain en fin de journée. ....
